At The Dog Shows
Evita (SEUCH DKUCH SE V-11 Wakefield A Voice Of Freedom) acquires her third and qualifying CACIB in Europe to become a Swedish Champion. In the FCI (Federation Cynologique International) system, a champion must complete his or her title with at least one CACIB being earned at two years of age or greater. Evita also acquires a Danish championship.
Marin (Wakefield Maestra) collects two Best Puppy in Shows and a group win in Canada to achieve the majority of her championship points in Canada. Stateside, she picked up her first major in March.
Holly (Ch. Wakefield This Just In) wins her second major in the United States, bringing her points total to 11. In Canada, she finishes in a single weekend with three Group 1's from the bred-by-exhibitor class. She later wins the breed from the classes at the Terrier Breeders Association of Canada National Specialty, repeating the win the following day as a move-up (both under terrier breeder-judges). She also places Group 2 in the Bred-by-Exhibitor group, and Group 3 in the regular group at the Specialty. Shown just a few times as a special, she is a multiple Group winner in Canada, and thereafter completed her American championship easily.
Kona (Ch. Wakefield Face The Music) completes his championship in three dog shows, winning a group from the classes.
Paloma (Wakefield Veritas Sacre Bleu) collects three points toward her championship, and will be shown further when she wraps up her first litter (due in July 2012).

"Roxy" (Am & Cdn Ch. Delzar Wakefield Sinfonia at Glacierridge) completes her American championship, entirely owner-handled by Sara Peterka. Congratulations, Sara and Roxy!
"Holly" (Wakefield This Just In) is shown one weekend from the 9 - 12 puppy class and collects 7 points (including her first major). We look forward to continued success from this promising youngster!
"Evita" was shown at the Hogbo-Bruk International Dog Show where she won her fourth CC, second CACIB, and Best of Breed. She was then placed 2nd in Group among most of Sweden's top terriers, and currently stands as #1 Lakeland Terrier in Sweden. At the Terrier Specialty at this same show, "Evita" repeated her breed-level wins and was additionally awarded Best In Show - Youngster and overall Best in Show 4th. Congrats, Ninna!
"Evita" (Wakefield A Voice of Freedom) wins Best Junior at the "Championnat de France." Well done, Ninna and Evita! “Ninna and Evita then win Best of Breed at the Swedish Winner Show, along with the “SW-11” title. We look forward to following their continued success in Europe.
"Roxy" (Cdn Ch. Delzar Wakefield Sinfonia at Glacierridge) collects three majors towards her American championship, capably handled by co-owner Sara Peterka. Roxy needs just two singles to finish her title in that country, and under Sara's guidance this will no doubt come shortly.
"Jenna" (Am/Cdn Ch. Wakefield Terra-Den Misterioso) completes her championship in the United States.
"Roxy" (Ch Delzar Wakefield Sinfonia at Glacierridge) debuts in Canada winning three Group 1's to complete her championship.
"Evita" (Wakefield A Voice of Freedom) debuts in Sweden with a Best of Breed and the challenge certificate (from the puppy classes) as well as Best Junior. Well done, Evita and Ninna!
"Sage" (Ch. Terra-Den Wakefield Misterioso) completes her championship in the United States for proud owner/breeder Eric. Sage was capably handled by Shel Grab, who is now looking at adding a Senior Earthdog title to complement Sage's Junior Earthdog.
"Lola" (Am/Aust Champion Sandimorn Kinky Boots) completes her championship in the United States for proud breeder Warren Mowles. She achieved this with four majors and limited exhibition.
"Jenna" (Ch. Wakefield Terra-Den Misterioso) is shown two weekends, collecting multiple group 1's and an All-Breed Best in Show from the classes, to complete her championship title at just over 1 year of age. Stateside, she collects four majors and requires one point to complete her title..
"Sage" (Terra-Den Wakefield Mistique, JE) is shown one weekend, collecting a 4-point major in California, followed by a pair of majors. Capably shown by Shel Grab, she also earned a "Junior Earthdog" title, too!
"Shelby" (Am/Cdn Ch. Wakefield Just This Once) is shown two weekends in Canada--multiple group wins from the classes made her an easy champion. In the United States, she finished in two weekends with five majors--the final one being a 5-point win going breed over specials.
"Met" (Ch. Wakefield English Mettle) comes out of quarantine to make his Australian show debut. He quickly becomes a multiple "Best Exhibit in Group" winner, and completed his Australian championship with a "Runner-Up Best in Show" from the classes. His show career looks promising, and additionally he has been bred to the great champion "Hally" (MBIS Aust Gr. Ch. Sandimorn Hell Hath No Fury). We wish Warren the very best of luck with this young fellow!
Our own Australian import, "Lola" (Aust. Ch. Sandimorn Kinky Boots) is shown briefly in the United States, picking up 3 majors for a total of 10 points. In Canada, she has been shown one weekend and collected 8 points at the group level. She should finish shortly, and will be bred in 2011.
"Alix" (Am/Cdn Ch. Wakefield A Voice From Afar) is briefly shown as an adult, and wins multiple Group 1's and an all-breed Best in Show (thank you Ms. Dianne Miller). Retires ranked #1 Lakeland in Canada.
"Met" (Ch. Wakefield English Mettle) collects his championship handily, including a Group 1 from the classes (and Puppy Group 1).
"Pablo" (Ch. Black Watch Midnight Blue) achieves his championship with a group placement from the classes.
"Tory" is shown briefly and collects several Group 1's and a Reserve Best in Show (thank you, terrier authority Patricia Alsina), ranking her #2 Lakeland. She is also awarded a Canine Good Citizen title, which completed her requirements for a "Grand Championship."
"Alix" (Am/Cdn Ch. Wakefield A Voice From Afar), shown just one weekend, collects Best in Specialty at the Terrier Breeders Association of Canada Northern Specialty. Thank you, judge Javier Ramirez (Mexico).
"Jake" (Am/Cdn Ch. Lockmede Lunar Mischief Maker) finished in three dog shows here in Canada, with a Group 1 from the classes.
"Tory" (Am/Cdn Ch. Delzar Autumn Mist of O'Brady) wins an All-Breed Best in Show from the classes. As a special, Tory was shown on a limited basis from late August onward, ranking #1 Lakeland and #4 Terrier for the year. We thank the following judges for awarding her Best in Shows: Mrs. Francesca Christina-Browning (South Africa), Mr. Michael Hill, Mr. Harry Tast (Finland), Mrs. Sheila Velhurst, and breeder-judge Mrs. Wendy Paquette. Tory was also honored with a Reserve Best in Show under Miss Virginia Lyne.
2008 was a strong year for Lakelands, and we congratulate our fellow competitors: all of the top five Lakelands this year were Best in Show winners, as well as excellent representatives of the breed.

Stateside, she won a 5-point and 4-point major, and also Best in Sweepstakes at the U.S. National. She then finished with a pair of 5-pt majors.
"Trista" (Canopyoak Delzar Fire N' Wakefield) started her championship, picking up a few points and multiple Puppy Group 1's.
"Russell" (Ch. Wakefield West Side Story) finished in 3 dog shows, winning Group 1 from the classes.
"Julie" (Ch. Wakefield Moon Jewel) finished quickly, winning multiple group placements from the classes.
We also exhibited the Lakeland Terrier "Rueben" (Am/Cdn Ch. Hi-Kel Terrydale MacSwain's Fortune) to his Canadian championship--with multiple Group 1's and a Best from the classes (congratulations, owners Terri Alloway & Barbara Schneider).
We later showed the great Sealyham "Caesar" (MBIS Am/Cdn Ch. Efbe's Seabiscuit) to multiple Group wins (congratulations, breeder/owner France Bergeron).
"Justin" (Am/Cdn Ch Delzar Wakefield Just Imagine) had an outstanding year, though shown entirely as a yearling. He completed his Canadian championship with a pair of Group 1's from the classes. As a young special, he achieved multiple Group 1 and Best in Show awards, he also picked up the inaugural "Golden Bone" Trophy, a U.S.L.T.C. Sweepstakes, and a trio of 4-point majors to finish his American title. He was a consistent and strong presence whenever exhibited, and ranked the #1 Lakeland Terrier for 2006.
"Belle" (Ch Wakefield Abbytown Belle) completed her championship in 3 dog shows, with Group 1 from the classes finishing her title. "Parker" (Ch Wakefield Candide) finishes his title, picking up multiple Puppy Group 1's along the way. He also appears in a variety of mainstream media as a canine model!
"Leah" (Ch Wakefield Moon Spirit) finishes her title, with multiple Puppy Group 1's and a Best Puppy in Show.
"Vanessa" (Ch Wakefield Anyone Can Whistle) finished rapidly.
"Katelyn" (Am/Cdn Ch Wakefield Mattinata) picks up three 4-point and a 5-point major to complete her American championship.
We also had the pleasure of having an Airedale around--and, a very special one: "Penny, Too," or Am & Cdn Champion Penaire Regalridge Copper Penny acquired her championship with multiple group wins from the classes. Congratulations to breeders/owners Joan and Bill Clarke, Ken Curren & Lee Steeves.
"Katelyn" (Am/Cdn Ch Wakefield Mattinata) is shown sparingly and ranks #2 Lakeland, with multiple Group 1's and Bests in Show.
"Justin" (Am/Cdn Ch Delzar Wakefield Just Imagine) is shown two weekends in Canada, winning Best Puppy in Show at both. Stateside, he picks up Winners Dog at the U.S. National Specialty, from the 6-9 Class.
"Eva" (Kreuzritter Kiss This) wins Group 1 and Best Puppy in Show her first time exhibited. Six-month-old Eva was shown by co-breeder and co-owner, Tina Sandford.
"Sophie" (Ch Wakefield Music in Medicine) finishes quickly as a 6-month-old, with multiple group placements from the classes.
"Cosmo" (Am/Cdn Ch US Black Watch Cosmopolitan) finishes his American title with Best of Winners at the USLTC Specialty, having previously collected a major on the Montgomery County weekend. His Canadian title came in three days from the 6-9 class, winning a Best Puppy in Show first time exhibited. Congratulations to Dr. William H Cosby Jr & Capt. Jean L Heath; it was a pleasure to handle 'Cos.
Additionally, we showed the Airedale Terrier, Am/Cdn Ch. Penaire Dallas Star to multiple Best in Show wins, and the Airedale Am/Cdn Ch. Penaire Prince of Egypt (Moses) to multiple Group wins. "Moses" also won the Canadian National specialty. And, the Airedale "Peter" (Am/Cdn Ch. Penaire North Star) was also shown to an All-breed Best in Show. Congratulations to the breeders/owners of the Penaire Airedale Terriers, Joan and Bill Clarke.
